PHOTOS: Kumasi Central business area goes dead today

Some known central business areas in Ashanti Regional Capital Kumasi has gone virtually dead as Traders and residents stay home following a temporary ban on trading activities by the their traditional rulers.

Clouded in red and black African costume since last Sunday as the residents mourn their late Queen Mother Nana Afia Kobi II, Kumasi has been very busy.

Many indigenes have come to render their condolences to the King of Ashanti Kingdom Otumfuo Osei Tutu II as he mourns his late mother.

However, Obaahemaa is expected to be buried tonight but before her burial, as custom demands, rituals must be performed.

That is the reason why the Ashanti traditional rulers have called for a total halt of business activities and a temporal curfew placed on its residents.
Below are some photos captured today in parts of Kumasi Central Business Areas.
