RELEASE: Farmers disappointed in Chiefs over drought


In a statement signed by President of Concerned Farmers Association of Ghana, Nana Opambuor Oboadie Boateng Bossu, the farmers expressed their disappointment on Chiefs of traditional rulers of various farming communities across the country for not putting in much effort to unravel the situation which could lead to extreme hunger.

We the members of the Concern farmers association of Ghana (CFAG )is highly disappointed in our Chiefs of various farming communities across the country for not doing enough to help the drought that is currently affecting most farming communities,a situation if not checked will lead to extreme HUNGER and THIRST. 

We blame the Chiefs because they have allowed illegal galamsey operators to continue to pollute our water bodies with poisonous chemical this is a threat to Human,and Agricultural;and it is unacceptable .

We immediately call on our Chiefs to act now stopping and supporting these galamsey operators which will have serious natural disasters if our call is not heeded.

We the members of CFAG,will however like to thank the president John Mahama for his support and affection in enhancing the welfare of The Ghanaian farmer;we particularly thank him for increasing the distribution of the farming input and fertilizer to farmers across the country .we use this press release also to welcome the new Agric Minister and telling him to release this year fertilizer subsidy fast because we have already enter the season .we are determined to even work harder to make Ghana a food basket in the sub region.
