15 staff at the presidency have been
involved in an accident on the Ako Adjei Interchange in Accra.
According to reports, a cargo truck
heading from the Canadian Embassy side of the road ran into the bus after its
brakes failed.
An eyewitness, Edward Harry Armah in
an interview with Joy News said the cargo truck driver was attempting to maneuver a turn onto the Osu stretch of interchange but lost control.
He noted that the driver of the bus
lost control but managed to prevent the bus from toppling over.
Meanwhile, Commander of the
Cantonment Motor Transport and Traffic Directorate (MTTD), ASP John Airriah who
confirmed the incident said the truck driver sustained minor injuries on the
cheek.
He said both drivers have secured a
police report to seek medical attention at the Police Hospital.
Also, the 15 presidential staffers
who sustained minor injuries are receiving treatment at the Police Hospital.
