Daniel Opare signs for Augsburg… replaces Baba Rahman at German Club

Ghanaian international Daniel Opare has joined German top flight side FC Augsburg, the current club of colleague Baba Rahman, who has signed for Chelsea.

The 24 year-old’s deal will run out June 30, 2018.

“I look forward to the challenge of playing with the FC Augsburg in the Bundesliga. Especially from Baba Rahman I got nothing but positive feedback, which has affirmed me in exchange,” says Daniel Opare who will wear the number shirt.

“With Daniel Opare, we managed to commit a young, talented player who has already gained match practice at various clubs in Europe. But we are sure that his development is not yet complete,” said Augsburg’s sporting director Stefan Reuter.

Opare played some 119 games for Standard Liege, some of which were for Europa League and Champions League qualifiers.

He appeared eleven times for Turkish club Besiktas, where he was on loan during the second half of last season.
