Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has said his “mental toughness”
will see him through his latest controversy.
Gyan has been hit by fresh controversy after a 22-year-old university student Sarah Kwabla alleged that the Al Ain striker impregnated her and is refusing to take responsibility for it.
According to the lady, Gyan sodomised her throughout their affair.
But speaking for the first time after the incident to Happy FM, Gyan said he has sailed through several controversies he has encountered in his career and is confident he would emerge unscathed in his latest setback.
"All through my career, I have always contended with obstacles whenever I’m trying to do anything but I never give up because I am mentally strong. I have not always had things running smoothly for me but I try to sail through,"
"What has kept me going up to this time is my mental toughness," Gyan confidently said.
The former Sunderland striker added: "You will notice that at almost every point in my life I have had challenges. I am blessed to have been able to go through all the time so I will go through this one too, again”.
"People may not know but my favourite kind of music is gospel. I listen to gospel songs every time and that's what inspires me and I sing them too”.
Gyan has admitted having sex with Kwabla but wants a paternity test to prove that he is the father of the pregnancy she claims to be carrying.
