Ghana's President John Dramani Mahama has lost his mother, reports say.

Communication Minister, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah has disclosed that the President's mum passed on Tuesday 4, 2016.

She is survived by six children including the President.

The family of Abiba Nnaba at Busunu  in the Northern region are yet to be officially notified as tradition demands but sympathizers have begun gathering at the traditional home of the first gentleman's mother.

Family sources say the late Hajia Abiba Nnaba is expected to be buried later today at Damango in the Northern Region in line with Islamic tradition.

This is in line with Islamic tradition as the late Hajia Abiba was noted for her commitment her maker.
