PHOTOS of the new five cedis note

Here is the new five cedis note that is expected to be released on March 7th this year. 

Officials of the Bank of Ghana have said they created this new cedi note to commemorate it's 60th Anniversary. 

The Bank of Ghana according to Head of Currency Management Department Edward Mossey was established in March 4th 1957. 

Meanwhile, a legal practitioner has said the Bank of Ghana has no right to introduce any new denomination with consulting Ghana Parliament. 

Moreover, the bank of Ghana did not create more public awareness as it did in 2007 during the redinomination process but Edward says this introduction isnt redenomination that is why BoG did not invest much in the awareness creation. 

Edward added that the old GH¢5 will remain legal tender as well as the new one.
