PHOTOS: Reporter in police grips for taking photos on MMT bus

You won't believe I ended up in police grips for taking photos in a Metro Mass Transit bus?

I was reported to the Tesano Police around 8:10am Wednesday morning by a lady conductor on the MMT bus I boarded from Pokuase to Achimota.

The conductor after seeing me take the picture shouted from the first seat asking "My friend, why are you taking shots of me?".

I however told her, I did not take photos of her but she insisted I took photos of her.

I showed her the images I had taken.

She after flipping through asked why I took them without their permission.

"I may not need your permission to take this picture", I replied her.

She instructed me to delete them but I didn't adhere to her instructions.

The conductor threatened to report me to the Police if I don't delete them.

I consented to her report threat and told her to do so at the nearby police station because i know i have not done anything wrong.

Like joke, like joke, the bus driver stopped at the Tesano Police Station for the conductor to report me to the Police which she did.

This ignited confusion between the passengers and the driver.

Whilst a section of the passengers were defending me saying I did nothing wrong because those who had their backs in the photo are not complaining and where I took the picture is a public domain, others were busily confronting the driver for their change.

The conductor later came with a police CID and pointed at me that "this is the guy who was misbehaving on the bus".

In an attempt by the CID to find out what I did wrong on the bus, some aggrieved passengers rushed at him and angrily told him, "He has done nothing wrong" meanwhile others denied claiming I haven't taken any pictures of the conductor.

The CID looking at the atmosphere directed the bus driver to take the bus to the station which he did.

All the passenger were on board anyway.

Some of the aggrieved passengers thought the conductor and his driver were delaying them so the came for their monies and left.

The police officer then escorted me to the charge office after the bus had arrived at the Tesano Police Station premises.

He ordered me to go to the 'counterback' when we reached the charge office.

Still, some aggrieved passengers were busy taking their monies.

The police officer who accompanied me to the charge office then asked to see the photos I took.

He then deleted the photos after I had shown them to him and told me to leave.

But what I don't get right is:

1.Why were both the conductor and the driver panicking?

2. Their actions are making me suspect that they don't do appropriate accounts to MMT.

Anyway, Click here(Instagram) to know why I took the picture.
Ghanafo kasa.

I intentionally didn't share the car registration numbers and the police officer's name.
