PHOTO: Nkawkaw-Atibie road finally sees asphalt

Nkawkaw, Old Afram Plains Station
Asphalt works has commenced on the much expected Nkawkaw-Atibie road through the dangerous Kwahu ridge.

That stretch of the road which is anticipated to be the shortest route to the top of the renowned Nkawkaw mountain was abandoned by drivers due to its bad nature.

They had no option than to use the Nkawkaw-Obomeng route which they have been complaining that it is time consuming.

Passengers going to Atibie have to pass via Obomeng and Mpraeso before reaching their final destination.

The situation made transport fares more expensive than the normal fare.

Moreover, the situation made it very difficult for residents around Atta-Ne-Atta, Obuasi, Osei kurom and it's environs to get home faster since many of the taxi drivers had stopped plying that stretch of road.

Some of these passengers and drivers threatened not to take part in this year's general elections if the road remains the same.

But much complained about road has finally seen asphalt.

Checkout it out.
