The Nkawkaw Divisional Police Command in a swoop has apprehended seventeen residents of Apesika, a suburb of Ankama Electoral Area of Kwahu East District with two hundred and four (No 4) bags of leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.
Nkawkaw Divisional Police Chief Superintendent James Sarfo Peperah tells Hwenebobo Newsstand that almost a person in the twenty one houses in Apesika cultivate this substance.
"We found suspected 'wee' in each of the houses in the village" Chief Supt. Sarfo Peperah said.
A Kia cargo was able to convey the bags of suspected wee to Nkawkaw Station after going two trips.
He says the suspects tried bribing the police officers after they were busted but the officers refused their offer.
He says eleven out of the seventeen suspect are found culporable after thorough interrogation and will face the law court on Monday, February 15th this year.
Chief Supt Sarfo Peperah says this is as part of actions taken by Kwahu Police to unveil criminals hideout for a safe Easter celebration.
