President John Dramani Mahama has swerved Kintampo residents for visiting some surviving victims of the fatal accident that occurred last Wednesday killing over sixty passengers but did not visit the accident scene, Kintampo, Adom FM’s Wiafe Akenten reports.
He reports that President John Dramani Mahama did not visit the accident scene after it was publicized in the media that he was to pay the surviving victims a visit.
According to reports, the president only visited some of the survived victims Sunyani and Techiman hospitals but refused to visit the accident scene and the Chiefs and residents who spent their precious time to assist rescue the victim's.
Wiafe Akenten believes the first gentleman of the land did not visit Kintampo Hospital because there were no victims on admission as at when he visited the Region.
Meanwhile, Kintampo Hospital was on Sunday, February 21zt forced to conduct burial service for bodies of two victims because they were decaying as a result of no space in their freezers at the morgue to preserve them.
It was clear there was a shortage in emergency drugs in the facility.
There were not enough clinical beds, no ambulance to transport referred patients to different hospitals among other.
However, Kintampo Guruma Line Electoral Area Assembly Member, Abdulai Mohammed says it was bad on the side of the president for not paying the Kintampo Government Hospital a visit.
"For it is the Kintampo Government Hospital that first treated the victims before referring them to the other hospitals the President visited", Honorable Abdulai said.
As the Akan proverb goes, “A priest that has sustained a patient for the greater priest to take over deserves some praise".
Honorable Abdulai tells Adom FM’s Captain Smart on Dwaso Nsem that Kintampo Frafra Chief lost thirteen of his family members in the accident.
Hon. Abdulai when asked what help the District Assembly have offered the Hospital, said he cannot remember the Assembly's budget for the hospital off head but assistance offered by it is not enough.
But Flagstaff House delegation had visited the Kintampo Government Hospital after the incident occurred.
President John Dramani Mahama couldn't visit the victim's because he was in Iran as at that time.
