Information reaching Hwenebobo Newsstand is that a thirty minutes heavy downpour in Kumasi this evening has rendered many
residents around Airport Roundabout and Tech homeless.
According to an eyewitness, the entire road is subdued by the rain leaving commuters amongst other vehicles around stack on the road.
The situation they say have created slow movement of traffic at the scene.
Fire service personnel have been deployed to rescue people who have been trapped and are standing on objects in order to escape being swept away.
However, an eyewitness who spoke with Hwenebobo Newsstand says a fuel station at Angloga Junction's premises have also been subdued by the heavy downpour.
The Accra Meteorological Department this evening issued a word of caution to residents leaving in flood prone areas of Accra to move to better places to avoid similar flood that happened on June 3rd.
Obidumbie Kwaku Adu Kumi, a news caster at Adom FM and Adom TV then broke the news from the Meteo Dept. on Adom 106.3MHz few minutes after he had finished with “Nawotwe mu Nsem”.
Accra is expected to experience another heavy downpour tonight with thunderstorms, according to the announcement.
Meanwhile, Hohoe and its environs have had heavy rains this evening and still drizzling.
